It's a lovely life

Well herro. It has been a long time since I've blogged so I wanted to come over and say hullo. I have been busy having too much fun!

I started a new job as an Early Intervention Teacher for children with disabilities. I LOVE IT. I couldn't have asked for a better job. I work with 0-3 years old which is a big change from my junior highers. I really do miss my old job, but I am very excited about my new job at the same time. I pretty much just drive around, get paid... then play, get paid... it's pretty awesome. My little bebes are so adorable. They are so little and think I am the best thing ever, plus their brains are like little sponges. It is very rewarding and brings me lots and lots of joy : )

I have twins on my caseload who are very high functioning that are constantly asking me, "why?". It's hilarious because they really do want to know -why? I told them a ball was blue..."why?" Well, I really don't know. I find myself learning more from them and my creative juices are increasing. I laugh a lot at things my toddlers and babies do everyday. I have another set of twins who have autism that are barely walking. They are learning sign language and cause and effect very quickly. It is so great after 20 trials of teaching the sign for "more" and one of them finally signs, "more" on their own. One of the girls is beginning to learn she can activate a toy (cause and effect relationship)- she took it even one step further to start experimenting in her play! Wow!

It's pretty great because every single student on my caseload does something new every time I see them. That's pretty amazing if you ask me. So there's always something to be excited about.

On another note of this lovely life is all the fun that's been happening. This past summer was pretty bleh because I was finishing up many classes at Cal State. It was the most lame summer! So, of course I am making up for it now. From weddings to serendipitous mini vacations (thanks for teaching me that word sluss), it has been a very fun couple of months.

Here are some snapshots of the past month or so...

That is a rockin' California tour! Glad you are getting some fun after such a L-O-N-G summer, and that the job is so rewarding. I can't think of a better person to be influencing those little lives with tenderness and care and growth!
