The New Year resolutions. Yeah right! Here is what works for me-short term goals. I would rather make short goals in which I could see the deadline fast approaching. Reason being, my life is on a quicker pace than I would choose which diminishes my ability to remember things like resolutions I made in January. Instead my short term goal right now is to successfully complete the next ten weeks. If I can make it through I'll be willing to throw a parade for myself. Here's why: Starting this lovely Monday I go back to my emotionally disturbed children for almost seven hours a day. Then right after I finish damage control I'm off to class for four hours. This schedule puts me at about a 15 hour day by the time I return to my sleeping roommate, comfy bed, and yummy food. However, all of these exceptional gifts cannot be enjoyed due to my overflowing pot of stew consisting of basic hygiene, lesson planning, and homework. (Trust me, hygiene comes first). This does not include text messaging (which has evolved to an activity to me that I apparently cannot keep up with), returning ridiculous phone calls to people who have 400 hours to chat, and trying not to become so invisible towards the people who really matter to me.
I think the extra units I am taking this quarter are going to give me a run for my money, which is why my "resolution" for the next few weeks is to try my best to keep up with my life. Also, I need to get off my backside and start exercising (in all my free time) so I won't get heart failure.
